Japanese Car Recall
March 5, 2010
With the cars that we had before, which includes a locally manufactured AUV, an Isuzu Gemini, a Toyota Corolla, and a Toyota Innova, we are quite lucky that not any of those had brought trouble on the road. Well, I must admit, that the Isuzu Gemini was a crank. Having it acquired from a second owner probably explains why. But over all, each one served well. Unlike some of the new cars now which has manufacturer’s defect that causes serious road accidents.
Have you heard of the news regarding a popular car company recalling some 3.8 million of their vehicles that have already been sold in the market? It has been established that the cars have latent defect to cause road mishaps. One reason pointed out is the possibility of car floor mats sticking to the gas pedal in the open position. This actually causes one of its sold cars to crash. The accident happened in San Diego, California. The popular car company is supposed to be known for good quality cars. It is quite surprising how they overlooked simple defects. Could it be that its quality control is of out of control? Let’s hope not.
So far, I’m not sure if we will still patronize cars from the popular Japanese car company though I have truly loved our last car from them.
