The Need for Home Insurance

October 10, 2009

It seems that it will take a long time before Filipinos could get over the seemingly unendless havocs brought about by the devastating typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.  Many areas in the country, particularly the Provinces of Pangasinan, Tarlac and Baguio are currently under high waters and landslides after the latter returned and stayed for days. Damages this time around are seen as much more horrible as the destruction left by the former typhoon, Ondoy in Metro Manila.  Countless homes, establishments and infrastructures are being wiped away by the wild flood.  At the midst of it all, I wonder if some of these people had ever thought of getting the best home contents insurance.  I wonder too if those wiped-out homes could claim from their insurances just in case they luckily got one.  A village in Taguig, M.M. was even eaten by fire while being submerged in flood.  It may be quite weird but true.  But that’s life!  No one wants those disasters but it happens.  Who’s to blame is another issue.
