Sweet Turon (Banana Roll)

September 25, 2009

This photo of Turon was taken in Jay-jay’s Resto in SM Fairview the last time my friend Lyn and I went out for some shopping.  I love the way it was cooked, perfect crisp on the ouside and and the right sweetness of banana and jackfruit inside.  Ideal combination for a refreshing Halo-halo.  I think I wanna go back there this afternoon after buying some stuff requested by my SIL from Australia  You bet, I could gobble up a lot with my present craving. I so love turon by now.

Looking for Back Pain Relief

September 22, 2009

For many years without any assistance of a household help, I took charge of all the household chores from doing the laundry to bathing the dogs.  Apart from performing the duties of a caregiver to my senile nonagenarian mother, ( may God bless her soul) I likewise played the driver cum assistant for her, every time she needed to be brought to the hospital for her medical check-ups. I think I did fairly well on all those various tasks considering that I was still at the time, under close monitoring for my stage 3 Breast Cancer illness.

However, my back problem, which was aggravated when I used to carry my mother, is now bothering me.  I can’t sit up straight for long hours without experiencing severe pain at my back.  I already had swallowed countless pain relievers but my back pain refuses to go away.  Many times,  the pain is so severe that all I wanted is a back pain relief.  One time,  I surfed the net and  I am glad to have visited the site of Egoscue, Inc..

Egoscue is an exceptional and very effective program intended to remedy musculoskeletal pain without drugs, surgery or manipulation.  It involves a series of egoscuecises that strengthens bones and muscles that results in bringing back the body to function properly.  I believe this will give me  back pain relief    It looks really amazing! .No surgical knife, no meds, no handling.  It’s pain free!   Finally, with high hopes on Egoscue, my back pain would be gone soon.

Free Washington Chat Rooms

September 19, 2009

Being a U.S. Navy man keeps my nephew away from his family.  He is presently stationed in Seattle, Washington and looks like he’ll be stationed there for many more years.  In his free time he spends his time in the net and enjoys the washington chat tremendously. It is chat room which he joined for free.  This certainly keeps him from being lonely while away from his family. And it makes my sis (her mom)  just as happy!

Free Business Cards

September 16, 2009

Oops, don’t get me wrong here.   This is not to endorse those companies who give out free business cards .  Why would I?  These cards are not really that beneficial as it looks to be.  Yeah, it is said to be free of charge, but the truth is, it actually isn’t.  There are hidden charges in them like greater shipping cost, extra bill for every type of upgrade you make, business card designs are inadequate, and definitely, there is a spot by the printing company to advertise their business on your card.

It is your business you want to be recognized.  It is not anyone else’s!  And one thing more, a business must reflect some integrity. Hence, free business cards is not advisable. Shop with 123Print and be proud!

"Pasalubong" from Davao

Every time I go out for some grocery items, I don’t forget to include some fruits especially my favorite pomelo from Davao.. I so love this fruit that when hubby travelled to Davao on official business last week,  I made sure that his pasalubong for us would be the popular fruit from Davao. ( Oh no! not the durian! I never liked that smelly fruit.)  I was so glad when he handed me the heavy box loaded with pomelos.  It’s just bad that I forgot to shoot a photo on the day it arrived. It was already half consumed when I remembered to..  Ha ha ha! I won’t deny that I finished a lot in one sitting.  A box obviously wasn’t enough for me.(Lol!)

My castles in the sky

September 10, 2009

Finally after days of excessive downpour, I am seeing a slight glimpse of sunrays on this far-flung corner of the metropolis. I was in a standstill for days in the house, and as a result many errands outside our domicile have been laid into a halt.  I was very slothful and did nothing but tinker my laptop, watch TV or lie on our bed.  It was on such moments when I come up with some castles in the sky.  I looked up and around the room and made some vivid pictures of modern bedroom sets replacing our old ones. It was amongst my plan actually to refurbish our room.  But, oh there’s always this big but! But hubby is not approving yet my so called plans. He always has qualms on those that I have. That’s the big drawback. If only I could find the right contractor to work on my plans, I would have done so.  For now, I’m still finding ways to pressure hubby to support my long time dream

Gift for a Baby

September 9, 2009

Having a small talk with my daughter is one of the bonding moments I usually look forward to whenever she’s free at home.  Today that it is her day-off from work, we were sitting side by side in front of the TV when she notices that the small calendar by the side table is now displaying the month of September.  “Whoa! It’s already the ber-ber months!”  Christmas is already around the corner. I should now be saving for my Godchildren’s Christmas presents”.  She exclaimed with a bit of surprise.  Her lips pouted and she became ill at ease when she remembers that she’ll be standing as a Godmother again in a few weeks time before Christmas. She pouted not because she disliked being asked to be a godmother but because she’s not good in choosing baby stuff.  She turned to me and asked for my help to think of good gift ideas or better yet buy it for her.  Since I know that her friend’s family is in constant road travel to their province down south, I advised her that it is best for her to consider giving the baby an infant travel bed.  Just like the one I saw online.  It is for infant’s safety, very suitable for the baby who is always on board.  Her friend would surely love the exceptionally useful baby stuff.  And daughter freely agrees to my suggestion. And she knows, she has to start saving for it now.

Art Contest for Students

September 5, 2009

Here’s calling all parents and teachers alike. Do your school kids love to color, paint or draw?  Can you see their blossoming talents in arts and crafts?  Do you see some wild imaginations from their works?  Why not boost them to let loose their creativeness!  Now is the time to stimulate their young creative minds.  RoseArt, makers of art and craft tools has launched an art contest looking for the  ”Best  dream classroom design”. Let them envision what their dream classroom should be. It may be floating up in the sky, or submerged deep in the blue ocean.  It doesn’t really matter where and how it would be. as long as they can  concoct their fantasy classroom.  There will be three categories.  Grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8.  A grand prize package of RoseArt School Supplies worth a big sum will be awarded to each category. And for second place, a package of lesser value but equally useful RoseArt School Supplies awaits the winner.  What a fantastic way to sharpen their craf!  Students can draw, paint, photograph or digitally create a layout of their dream classroom and submit them electronically to RoseArt Website.  Motivate them to bring out their interests.  Hone their creativity. Work it out, now!

Postcards

September 3, 2009

I wonder why I am thrilled every time I receive a postcard.  Perhaps because it is in this manner that I get the chance to see the beautiful place where the postcard came from or maybe the delight comes from getting to hold something directly from its place of origin that I probably won’t have the chance to personally see or visit.  But postcards are not just these.  There are also customized postcards being utilized for personal and business use. Postcards convey messages in an eloquent way. The designs or pictures being used carry a great weight in sending a message thus making postcards an effective means to deliver business information.  And for the  right postcard designs, 123 PRINT.co.uk is the right site to visit.
