NYC Bus Charters
September 29, 2008
A nephew of mine who is presently working for a multi-national company based in New York City had finally ended his stint as an IT consultant in their NYC office. In a week’s time, he will fly back to his head office together with ten other work mates. But before they leave New York City, their group of eleven employees plus other friends they have met along the way are planning to tour the “City that never sleeps”. He told me via his email that they are not very familiar yet with the Big Apple, but they will try to see each and every historical and significant places of the city on their own free time since they can’t all be accommodated in one car. I guess, they are not aware yet of the charter bus nyc has. I have yet to tell him about the NYC Bus Charters they can avail to make their tour an easy and convenient one. They want to go as a group after all. And what an enjoyable time they would certainly have if they can all be together seeing those attractive tourist spots of NYC aboard a luxurious quality vehicle with courteous and friendly drivers. I have to email him as soon as possible to inform him about this deluxe but affordable transport service, the NYC Bus Charters.
Son was Sick
September 27, 2008
I was off line for quite a while. I didn’t have time for my laptop and my blog. Son was having high fever that wouldn’t subside to paracetamol but kept getting high despite the tablets. I brought him to the ER of NKTI (National Kidney and Transplant Institute) for immediate check up and was advised to be confined for further observation. He underwent X-ray, ECG, Urinalysis, Whole abdomen ultrasound, and many other simple lab tests. The results? All were normal! It’s so frustrating sometimes that you were expecting to be informed of the doctor’s findings for that high fever but couldn’t get what you want. He was bombarded by high priced antibiotics for the entire three days that we have stayed in the hospital until that high fever finally gave in. Fever was gone not knowing the real reason behind. Doctor just said it could be an upper respiratory tract infection, something in his throat. Well… it could be, or it might be or his words beginning with perhaps, they all irritated me. Anyway, son was well so I asked to be discharged soon after almost three days of confinement in a beautiful private room complete with telephone, cabled TV and ref. Opps, don’t think I chose it. It’s just that there are no cheaper rooms available that time. Unfortunately, he’s no longer covered by his father’s health card in his office. So we got no choice but to foot that soaring high hospital bill. Wahhh… that bill could have bought me a package tour to Bangkok with some extra pocket money! Nah, on the other hand, I am thankful indeed that son is well now!!

A Family Day
September 18, 2008‘Twas quite a long time since we spent Sunday out of the house and away from computers. I always felt extremely contented every time I am out with my family enjoying the environs. Finally, I was able to grab and pull out these people from being glued in to their laptops to dine out in one of our favorite restaurants. Minis Steak House being situated in Libis, Quezon City is considerably far from our place but it didn’t stop my longing for a steak. The very giving husband had no objection for my whim perhaps because he very well knew that the kids share the same desire for such cuisine. So our Sunday lunch consisted of complete steak meal. The menu included chicken and mushroom soup, roll and butter, shrimp salad, coleslaw, main course is my choice of Porterhouse , Tenderloin for daughter, T-bone for son, and Lengua for hubby. For dessert, we all had ice cream except of husband who chose to have coffee instead. That was a satisfying lunch. indeed.
After dining out, we drove, or should I say, hubby drove away from our usual route. We sort of toured the Quezon City, Marikina, and Montalban area. I was reminscing my chidhood as we passed by Balara, expecting to see the swimming pool area but we lost our way and accidentally saw some beautiful overlooking views and nicely constructed bridge that connects Quezon City to Marikina and Montalban.
Then we stopped by SM Fairview for some groceries. Went back home feeling cool and relaxed.
A Message of HOPE
September 13, 2008
“Who would ever imagine that something good would come out of being told you have cancer?I must say that in many ways, my cancer was my greatest blessing. Not that I want to go through everything all over again. But during this time in my life, I found out many things that otherwise I would never have known.I learned “to live by faith, not by sight”.I learned that when I am at my weakest, I am also at my strongest.I learned to not take things for granted, even realizing what a blessing it is to have to get up and prepare breakfast.I found that my family and friends loved me more than I ever thought possible.
But most importantly, I learned that “God does provide a way!”
He allowed cancer to enter my life, and then He took that and made me a better person.
So now, I am a cancer survivor. Sometimes, I forget that, and sometimes I want to forget. For to remember is also to remember my “survivor’s guilt”. Why did I survive and someone I knew who had better prognosis did not? I survived and am now enjoying the love and company of my children and grandchildren, but a friend left behind her three year old child who needs her. Another friend died at 27, she was so full of life and had so many dreams for the future, I am 50 and in retrospect had quite a fulfilled life though not perfect. Why did I survive? Only God knows!
Do I live in fear that the cancer may catch up with me? Honestly, I think about it and I used to worry. But I realized why worry? I could die in a car accident today, or some other way. There are other things I should be concerned about and worrying will be like walking or running on the treadmill, it gets you nowhere.
I know that if the cancer should get worst, God will give me whatever I will need to cope and deal with it. “His Grace is sufficient for me!” …I know that no matter what I face, He is in control and that everything will work out for my ultimate good and His glory. I continue to move on.”
No, those words aren’t from me though it fits me fairly well coz I’m a Cancer Survivor too. It’s just that I am holding on to my doctors declaration on my clean bill of health for sixteen years now,. That is, with Gods blessings! This is an excerpt from the message delivered by Sis Marivic Bugasto at the Silver Linings Event which was held at Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City just recently. You may refer to my previous post here. I was deeply moved by her message that I ask for permission to copy paste it here not knowing that she has her very own blog where it is already published. Kindly visit her site and read the complete message. I’m sure you would come to admire her! Or better yet, be one of us who pray for her complete healing and for all Cancer Survivors as well.
Son’s Birthday
September 3, 2008It was my son Luigi’s birthday yesterday and we celebrated that important day by going to Trinoma Mall yesterday. Since their Tita Elvie’s place is along the way, we picked her up to join us. We had lunch at a Japanese Restaurant in the mall, the Teriyaki Boy. The food was great tasting as always, ( I forgot to take pictures of other courses like the salmon teriyaki, ika tempura, and california maki) however, the servings of our ordered food was unexpectedly small compared to their prices. We thought we’d see bigger portions of fish. That which made me crave and ordered for more. Anyway, it was one good time of celebration and bonding. We roamed the said mall while it was raining cats and dogs. We went home exactly as the sky got clear.
Belated Happy Birthday, Igi!
We love you!
