College Admission Essays

February 29, 2008

College has become a part of a student’s life, unlike before in which continuing studies after high school is just an option or extra credit they could take.  Being in a premiere university gives a person the advantage, both in studies and in life.  In most states of the US, there are a lot of prestigious colleges and universities one could choose from, but, actually getting into the student’s preferred university could be very very difficult.  Aside from the fact that the competition is really tough, there are few factors being considered by universities in accepting an applicant.  Factors that could affect students’ opportunities are GPA, SAT, interviews, and essays.  Having a good standing in the first two factors gives a person the edge, but still, the over-all personality shall be counted.  These are evaluated through interviews and essays.  However, some universities do not prefer to conduct interviews due to the large number of students needed to be met.  Because of this, college admission essays play a very important role as it could either make a student stand out or fall out.

To make an essay an outstanding piece, students could order model essays or they could let theirs be critiqued and revised through the internet for a very competitive price.  Admissionessays.com offers these kinds of service.  Check out the site and see more of its sample essays.

On Stand-by Mode

Tomorrow, my mother-in-law will be arriving from Sydney, Australia.  All of us are excited to see her again after two or three years.  Hopefully, we can provide her all the best we can give her since her visitations here hardly ever happen. I’m afraid though, that she would reiterate her wish.  She wanted so much to come and watch the TFC’s Wowowee in ABS-CBN.  But no one among her children or grandchildren wanted to come with her.  It’s not that we don’t care for her. It’s just that queuing for a TV show is not the kind of stuff here.  Nonetheless, if she’ll ask for it again, it means that she really, really would love to watch that show personally.  So maybe, its about time people here should grant that wish, if that would make her happy.  Meanwhile, we are on stand-by mode till she arrives.

Free Business Insurance Quote

February 28, 2008

There are a lot of things that could make or break a business, such as employees, clients, operations, perils, just to name a few.  For everything that might strike and affect a business, it is always good to be secured, and this could be possible by having an insurance.  There are lots of types of business insurances, knowing the pros and cons about those always give a company the best possible benefits at a much less price.  This is where 2insure4less.com comes in and help.

2insure4less is a website that provides Business Insurance quote to any company needing it, for no charge.  Aside from free quote, the site also has a list of business insurance variety like small business insurance plan, home based business insurance, business vehicular insurance, and business health insurance plan.  Each in the list has a brief explanation, to help businessmen in understanding more about the perfect plan to get for their own company.

Having an insurance for the company one owns is the smartest move he can make.  Yes, it could hurt a little by paying some bucks for security, but looking at the over-all advantage and assistance that insurances can give could in fact be invaluable when unforeseen things that cannot be controlled come and happen.

Made in China

February 27, 2008

I was browsing my cellular phone’s inbox when I came across a message that says God created the universe in seven days …and the rest was made in China.  It is a joke kind of message, which turned up probably because of a “piece of information” known almost worldwide; most of the products that anyone could purchase in any kind of store really have a mark that reads Made in China.  Just in our little humble abode, one can find a China product in forms of decorative dolls, ornamental flowers, outgrown children’s toys, and ceramic dining wares.  I think I am one of those who could confirm the text message I stated.  Well, there is one site that truly exemplifies the aforesaid “piece of information,” and that is madeinchina.com.

From agricultural products to computer peripherals, from home furnishings to construction devices, madeinchina.com could make it available for you!  This is possible because a lot (and I mean a lot!) of China Manufacturers, along with their products, are exhibited in that site, which makes madeinchina.com a one stop shop for all of one’s needs.  Products and manufacturers featured in the site have precise details like product price, company name, and company address that would help the customers in deciding for the right thing to purchase. Visit it and be overwhelmed for yourself!

Modern Furniture

A house is a dwelling place where we find peace and comfort.  But what could a house be without any furnishing.  Imagine receiving guests in a living room without sofas and furniture, or wanting to eat your meals comfortably but no dining table to eat on, or you long to have a goodnight sleep but there’s no cozy bed to lie on.  Definitely, it will be very miserably depressing.

But what if you have all of those needed furniture but still you are not contented? Maybe your own bed has been flattened by the years of its service to you. You may have a sofa on your living room but it is already out of style and does not fit your newly renovated house.   Your dining set may have gotten smaller in size compared to your family that has grown bigger.  There are many reasons why you need to shop for furnishings, and if you decide to look for modern furniture to replace your old worn out one, visit the site eRoomService.com

The Beauty That Is GABY

February 26, 2008

Gaby dela Merced is a well known car racing champion, young, beautiful and brainy. She was the third big winner of the concluded PBB Celebrity Edition 2.  Part of her winnings was the prize-donation given to the charitable institution of her choice.  And fortunately, she chose Icanserve Foundation to be her prize recipient.

Last Saturday, she graced the lunch party that was given her by Icanserve Foundation held at Valle Verde IV Club House. She came with her equally beautiful mother.  She was in white, long sleeved white blouse and skinny jeans.  She was welcomed by the group led by Kara Alikpala, the founder and Bibeth Orteza-Sigueon-Reyna, a co-member. She was handed a bouquet of flowers and some goodies souvenirs as token of appreciation. There were a number of speeches in the middle of a sumptuous lunch. After which she willingly posed for photo requests.

As a Breast Cancer Survivor myself and a member of this foundation, I am truly grateful to Gaby. Her prize-donation will truly help in the breast cancer advocacies of Icanserve Foundation. Obviously, Gaby’s beauty isn’t only on the outside, it lies deep within as well.

Funds Are Coming In

February 24, 2008

It has been a month since I posted my first paid blog. And I am very glad to see my earnings starting to appear now on my paypal account. It’s not that significant amount yet but seeing it coming one after another makes me a little more confident on what I’m doing. In the meantime, I’ll just wait for those funds to accumulate before I finally withdraw them. I am thankful that Paypal has launched the “Withdraw to Local Bank” feature.  It is much better than what they impose before which is withdrawing through the Credit Card.  Now I can actually save those earnings rather than spending it right away to be able to withdraw from my Paypal account. All these thrilled me more than ever. I love it!

Spring Break Getaway

Vacations are the usual bonding moments of family members. There are many activities that can be done while vacationing.  Sometimes a family may get to disagree where they are supposed to go to.  Many would look for a place that could give them some fun activities which everyone can enjoy aside from the usual comfortable beds and amenities a hotel can offer them.  At this point, a family may consider the Delta Hotels.

It is not so difficult to find a Delta Hotel of one’s choice. One of those is the Delta Centre-Ville. It is located at the heart of Montreal, Canada.  The hotel itself is at a very close distance to the pulsating nightlife and excellent boutique shops within the city.  The hotel facilities are complete. Children can truly enjoy their indoor swimming pool or just relax at the hot tub, a truly fascinating treat.

For families who are about to go on a holiday trip, it will be of great advantage to learn about the Delta Hotels March Break Vacation Promo. They could get fifty percent discounts on the next adjoining room for children.  And one more favorable treat that would definitely be appreciated by the customers is that their pets can be brought along with them inside the hotel room. There are a lot to love about the Delta Hotels. One has just to experience it for himself.

Diner Dash Games

February 23, 2008

I love playing computer games.  After starting up my laptop, I play some short games first.  If I have more free time, I prefer playing computer games over watching television.  Looking for more exciting games, I stumbled upon Diner Dash and saw Diner Dash: Hometown Hero – Gourmet Edition.  To check the game, I downloaded and installed the free version.  It has seven levels and no time limit.  I was on level 2 and I already had fun seeing my angry customers.  I thought I couldn’t be a good waitress.  I will concentrate on this game on my free time and practice my waitressing.

Diner Dash: Hometown Hero – Gourment Edition has been recently launched by Play First – the leading publisher of casual computer games.  It is the fourth title in the wildly popular Diner Dash series.  Flo, the loveable character in this game, resigned from her job and started her own restaurant.  In this series, Flo returned to her hometown and helped her grandma revitalize her favorite hangouts.  My story ends here; as I want you to visit Diner Dash, download, play and explore this wonderful and exciting game.

Truly Wedding Favors

For most of the girls that I know, there is one great dream common among them.  That is to have a grand wedding ceremony. Some of them dream of a big church wedding, some fantasize to have a sporty beach wedding and some desire an extraordinary garden wedding.

This brings me to happily recall one wedding celebration we had attended years ago. It was a beautiful garden wedding in a five star hotel.  It was held on the seaside garden with the dramatic sunset at the background. The lovely bride and the attractive groom were a compliment to each other.  The ceremony was a serene one followed by a lively reception in one of the hotel’s big function rooms. The guests were mostly close friends and relatives who enjoyed each others company. The foods were great and so were the sparkling wines that poured nonstop. Everyone was in high spirits.

As guests left the fabulous wedding party, each one were handed wedding favors.  These wedding favors looked like those high quality favors offered by Truly Wedding Favors.  Little dainty gift boxes especially done for weddings and bridal showers giveaways. With the wedding favors shared to all the guests, it made the wedding celebration forever remembered. I still keep the one given to me.

Feeling Fine

February 20, 2008

I think I have mentioned before how excited I was on my blogging.  One reason for my enthusiasm was perhaps exploring and discovering the computer itself.  I maybe slow but I had picked-up the basic bits and pieces. Though I know the things to learn are endless.  Since I started to create my blog, there was no time left for me to take a nap or even go out with my friends.  As quickly as I’m done with my daily home chores, I turn to my laptop right away and start to search, email, post  blog and go blog hopping. Yes, I always go around visiting sites but I don’t leave my foot steps behind. Meaning, I don’t leave any message or something for the blogger I saw along the way. I don’t know, maybe soon I’ll do it. That is why, I am very much appreciative of the one or two people who bothered to leave their messages on my message box. (Thank you, guys!)

At this moment, I was just trying to do this filler.  If I have time, I’ll create another blog which isn’t a billboard.  Anyway, I was pushed to blog for this lone reason, paid blogging.  There were quite a number of tasks coming and I keep on accepting. I can feel the adrenaline rush on my body. It’s harder now for me to catch a nap.  Every once in a while, I worry, for I may not submit on time but over all, I’m fine and I can feel my mind getting oiled.  It has shed some of the rust.( Ha ha ha! )

Before I forget, I want to thank the previous Toshiba laptop I was using.  It stopped working for a while which drove my husband to buy me a new one. I chose this Acer  model for  its built-in web cam.  Now we got three, so no more interruptions on the side, supposedly!  But my hubby’s laptop broke down this time.  So he snatched this, once, when he went to Cebu.  I hope the restoration will be over soon.

In the meantime, I’m trying to catch up with all my works.  And I promise myself  I’ll put up a more interesting blog in the near future.  And try to have time for messages to other bloggers. Just watch out for it.

Prime Properties Worth Investing

February 18, 2008

Finding the best real estate to put your money’s worth is one difficult task to deal with. To relieve you from such trouble, you can visit Raleigh homes or Charlotte Homes. Here, you can find fine properties that you will surely find irresistible. Like the luxurious condominiums which has a car elevator that you can pull at the ground level of the car elevator and ride up to your private 2 or 4 car garage just outside your high rise condo. Oh yes!  You can unload your groceries right in your kitchen from your car. Isn’t it remarkable? But if condominiums are not your kind of thing, there are still the golf course homes, log homes, mountain homes and lodges and lakeshore homes to choose from. All of them are of premier degree.

Hence, there’s no reason at all to be troubled where to put your money into. There is no doubt these properties are worth investing.  NC homes is indeed the properties worth buying.

Move on, Philippines!

February 16, 2008

Graft and corruptions,  plunders, nepotism, political killings, coup d’etats all time high unemployment and poverty rate together with the never ending investigations going-on in  the senate as well as  in congress.  These are all the common struggles of the filipino people.
Yesterday, a group of  more or less ten thousand people assembled in Ayala Avenue, Makati City to show protest to the present government regarding the NBN-ZTE broadband deal catapulted by the star witness Jun Lozada.  Many thought that it would lead to another EDSA 1 or EDSA 2.  But no, such expectation did not materialize. I think, Filipinos are tired and fed-up of such actions. It will not help the country, I for one, am truly disgusted by the politics of the nation.  We are going nowhere and seems like we are doomed.  I wonder if we still have a chance to have a real sincere Filipino leader whose genuine interest is to make our nation progress and develop into a country that can stand side by side, to at least, other Asian countries such as Malaysia or Singapore.  A leader who will not plunder, is not immoral, is not  corrupt, will not cheat and one that is intelligent enough to know if his/her advisor is for real or just there to make her feel good.. But I guess, all these hopes will remain futile. I remember catching a glimpse of Mister Dodie Limcaoco, the former Assistant to Ex-President Aquino and the  present Head of religious affairs of the Macapagal-Arroyo government as  he gave testimony to one religious television program.  On the said testimony, he admitted having been through the same corruptions and the likes, reasoning out that all politicians do the same. And to quote him, “ Lahat ng tao na humawak sa kawali ay hindi pwedeng  hindi maulingan.”(All those who took hold of the pan are inevitably bound to be stained.)  It goes without saying that all of them , who are in the government are one and the same. No one is clean.

To oust the Philippine President once again by the so called People Power is, for me, another waste of time.  What are we Filipinos apt to?  Shall we forever elect then overthrow a President on our own whim? In case we do, who will take over?  How sure are we that the next president won’t commit the same misdeeds?  Can we not move on without the equivalent uprising.  How about accepting and giving the present government a chance to change.  Perhaps PGMA, FG and his cronies will realize that it’s about time to give the Filipinos what is rightfully for the Filipinos, Honest and crdible leadership. Enough for those millions of dollars stolen through commissions.  There will always be courts for such concerns. (But on the second thought, isn’t the present judiciary an extension of Gma’s hand.)  Where do Filipinos turn to now?  We beg the officials of the land for honest performances. Stop the bickering, and let there be peace in the land. Let us all move on for the betterment of  our country, Philippines..

A Day Of "For Girls Only"

February 10, 2008

Amongst the couples that compose our circle of friends, four couples somehow have got more time on gimmicks and get-togethers. These couples have established an extra ordinary rapport.  There was almost no special occasion that we haven’t celebrated together.  Be it a birthday, a valentine, the yuletide or the lenten.  We have many memorable moments together which were inevitable of recalling every time we were together. And on times of reminiscing those moments, there would be the usual uproar of laughter that sometimes ends in tears to some, stomach aches and farts to others due to relentless laughter.

Yesterday, it was a day of “For Girls Only.”  Susan treated us to a Health Spa.  We met with her at the Holiday Spa in D. Tuason, Quezon City since she had yet to come from her office in Ortigas while  Ely and me, were fetched by Lyn in her car. The three of us arrived at the appointed place earlier so we had a little halo-halo and turon while waiting. It wasn’t too long till Susan arrived and we proceeded to the Spa.  I was a little worried what to expect for it was my first time on such place.  Inside, we were each given a key to a locker, a pair of slippers, a loose shorts and robe, a soap and a towel.  The place was so clean and cozy.  A calming music was being played.  We slipped in our bathing attire,  took a hot shower and then submerged ourselves in the very comfortable warm pressured water of the Jacuzzi.  We stayed there for almost an hour without noticing the time due to endless topics of conversation. Sauna was the next cubicle we lounged.  I decided not to stay there long, since I have heard before that Sauna is meant for those who want to lose weight, and I, absolutely can not afford to shed a bit more from 128 lbs., 5’7” body built of mine. I dipped in the Jacuzzi instead once again and had a hot shower once more.  After which on to the main event of whole body Swedish Massage.  It was so comfortably relaxing. It was probably the ultimate soothig relaxation  my body has ever had.

Looked like there was no end to treats.  A sumptuous dinner followed courtesy of Ely. Unfortunately, Susan wasn’t able to join us on the extended gimmick.  We met wirh our  husbands who were earlier waiting for us in a restaurant we earlier requested them to meet us. There was a lohger time of hanging out and updating existing camaraderie.

By simply being together, another unforgettable bonding experience happened equally worthy of reminiscing.

It was indeed an exhilirating day of "For the Girls Only" and a  night of "Triple Dates".

Thanks to Susan, for the Spa treat, thanks to Ely for the early  and late  dinner and thanks to Lyn for allowing herself to be our exclusive driver until we were with  our very own husband drivers. (Don’t worry girls, it will be my turn next time.)
